Moloka’i Coastal Homesteads Community Resiliency Plan

Moloka‘i Coastal Homesteads Community Resiliency Plan (MCH-CRP)

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL), in consultation with Kalama‘ula, Kapa‘akea and Kamiloloa-One Ali‘i homestead associations, coastal beneficiaries and other stakeholders, is developing a community resiliency plan for these three tracts along the southern coast of Molokai in the ahupua‘a of Kalama‘ula, Kapa‘akea, Kamiloloa and Makakupa‘ia. This project was initiated in response to beneficiary concerns that emerged during the South Molokai Shoreline Erosion Management Plan (SM-SEMP) process regarding the need to evaluate and mitigate hazards mauka as well as makai and develop resilience strategies that incorporate Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK).
