The Hawaiian Homes Commission welcomed testimony today from representatives of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancementʻs (CNHA) Policy Center on suggestions to address concerns raised by a State Auditor’s report earlier this year.

DHHL staff recently completed a statewide round of beneficiary consultation meetings to discuss proposed rules to implement an amendment to the Hawaii Administrative Rules that would allow an existing revenue-producing general lease to be extended an additional 20 years. The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands has recently received inquiries from beneficiaries as well as the media regarding its loss mitigation and foreclosure prevention programs that service our beneficiaries.
