The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands has completed the removal of unauthorized campers and in the process of installing a fence in the Kalawahine Subdivision of Honolulu, Oʻahu.

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands Deputy Tyler Iokepa Gomes issued the following statement following the Monday, Feb. 1 press conference hosted by Representative Stacelyn K.M. Eli on the impacts of the proposed DHHL Casino on Native Hawaiians, immigrants, and women.

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands has received nearly $35 million in federal funds under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021.

The office located on Kaumualii Street in Wailuku is currently open for walk-in payments and previously scheduled appointments only.

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands has announced eight recipients of the Native Hawaiian Development Program Plan, who will each receive a portion of $1 million in grants.
