ABOUT THE ‘WAITLIST REDUCTION ACT’
Act 279, SLH 2022, appropriates $600 million in general funds to provide a multi-pronged approach to reduce the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands Waiting List. The $600 million will address the needs of beneficiaries on the DHHL waitlist and those still waiting to get on the land.
Act 279 Working Group
Created by House Resolution No. 147 (2025) establishing a legislative working group for the continued oversight to House Resolution No. 10 (2023), the Act 279 Working Group’s purpose is to oversee the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands’ execution of the funds appropriated pursuant to Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaii 2022, to address the beneficiary waitlist.
