Maui Beneficiary Consultation Meetings August 2011
Aloha Maui Applicants and Lessees,
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend two (2) upcoming Beneficiary Consultation meetings. The first is a meeting to discuss the process to make a portion of our Pu‘unënë lands inCentral Maui available for revenue generation, as provided in the Maui Island Plan. The Hawaiian Homes Commission Act provides the Commission with the authority to take some of its lands and use them to generate revenue for homesteading and community initiatives. We have major revenue generating lands on O‘ahu and Hawai‘i Island, but this will be the first major revenue generating project onMaui. The details for this meeting are as follows:

The second meeting is part of a series of statewide consultation meetings regarding updates to the Native Hawaiian Development Program Plan for the years 2011-2013. This consultation will help the Department to consider your perspective on the services we provide for Individual Development, Community Development (Kūlia I Ka Nu‘u), Beneficiary Consultation, Planning activities, and Governance.
