PAPAKŌLEA – TELECOM UPGRADE WORK

 

Please be advised that Hawaiian Telcom will be performing work to upgrade the company’s telecommunications network in Papakōlea on O’ahu. The work is scheduled to start on April 14 and is expected to last through April 30, 2025. Work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Monday through Friday, except holidays. Hawaiian Telcom trucks will be parked near utility boxes for a few hours at a time while workers place fiber optic cables.

Work areas include the following blocks: 2200 Kapahu St, 2300 Kapahu St, 2000 Haʻalelea Pl, 2200 Anianikū St, 2000 Kamalalehua Pl and 2000 Pūowaina Dr.

Motorists are advised to observe and obey all traffic controls and posted signs, and to proceed with caution through the work area. The Contractor will coordinate local traffic including residents, deliveries, trash collection and emergency services. On street parking within the construction area will be prohibited during working hours. PLEASE OBSERVE THE DATES AND TIMES ON THE POSTED ROADWAY SIGNS. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed, if necessary, at the owner’s expense. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction area.
