HAWAII ISLAND STRUCTURE DEMOLITION & CLEARING

Keaukaha – DHHL has contracted Island Demo, Inc. to demolish & clear properties included in the Hawaii Island Structure Demolition & Clearing Project. The first round of properties are located at:
82 Andrews Avenue
369 Desha Avenue
372 Desha Avenue
Work will commence on February 12, 2024. Active construction work will occur over a one-month period, scheduled during weekdays from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The scope of work includes asbestos/lead paint abatement, demolition of the existing dwelling, cesspool closure and vegetation removal. OSHA compliant signage and barricades will be posted for public awareness and safety. Prior to demolition of the dwelling, asbestos and lead abatement will take place from February 20, 2024 to February 23, 2024. During all asbestos and lead paint abatement activities environmental air sampling will be performed at perimeter barriers and inside regulated work zones. Upon completion of all lead paint and asbestos removal and prior to demolition, a thorough visual clearance inspection will be performed by A State of Hawaii Certified & Registered Asbestos Project Monitor/Building Inspector.
