Motorists advised to drive cautiously
Lālāmilo Offsite Water System 16-Inch and 12-Inch Transmission Mains

WAIMEA, HAWAI’I — The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands would like to alert residents and motorists of roadway construction and lane closures which may impact commute times in the Waimea area. DHHL advises motorists to drive cautiously in the area.
1. Kawaihae Road. Approximately 1,400 ft. of lanes will be shifted along Kawaihae Road at the South Kohala Distribution Road entrance from 8:30am to 3:30pm on October 25-26 and October 29-31, 2012. Orange construction signs will be placed along Kawaihae Road approaching the construction area/shifted lanes. There may also be periods when one lane will need to be closed to accommodate construction equipment. Police officers will be directing traffic.
2. South Kohala Distribution Road (a.k.a. Waimea Transfer Station Road). One Lane will be closed on South Kohala Distribution Road from 8:30am to 3:30pm on October 25-26 and October 29-31, 2012. Orange construction signs will be posted along South Kohala Distribution Road approaching the construction area/lane closure. Access to the Waimea Transfer Station will be maintained. Police officers will be directing traffic.
