Effective immediately, the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is lifting the water usage restriction for Molokaʻi residents who receive their potable water from the Hoʻolehua reservoirs.

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands discovered today that both of their 3.5-million-gallon water storage tanks in Ho`olehua on the island of Moloka‘i have been vandalized.

Waimānalo welcomed over 30 new Hawaiian homesteaders into its community this past weekend at the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands' Kakaʻina Lot Selection Ceremony in Waimānalo.

Waimānaloʻs newest homesteaders, Ola and Rusty Santos held their housewarming party today thanks to what will soon be coined a “Mustard Seed Miracle.”

Aging infrastructure and a reluctance to leave a lifetime of memories behind had homesteader Darleen Kaniho living in uninhabitable conditions for several years in her childhood home in Papakōlea. With the help of Honolulu Habitat for Humanity, Darleen was able to rebuild on her ʻāina hānau with memories intact.
