Re: Nanakuli Drainage Channel Outlet Repairs

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) has contracted with Hawaii Engineering Group, Inc., to address the necessary repairs to the Nanakuli Drainage Channel Outlet. A presentation regarding these planned repairs will be made to the Nanakuli- Ma’ili Neighborhood Board No. 36 on February 20, 2024. This presentation is a procedural requirement aimed at securing a Special Management Area Use Permit (SMA) and a Shoreline Variance. The regularly scheduled Neighborhood Board Meeting is set to take place at the Nanakuli Public Library, 89- 070 Farrington Highway, Wai’anae, Hawai’i 96792, starting at 7:00 p.m.

The applicant, DHHL, will be submitting applications for both the Special Management Area (SMA) and Variance Permit. As part of the regulatory process, nearby property owners within a 300 feet radius of the subject property are required to be notified of this presentation.
