Molokaʻi Farm Conference (July 26 & 27)

ATTENTION ALL FARMERS!!!

The Molokaʻi Native Hawaiiian Beginning Farmer Program will host a farm conference on Thursday, July 26, and Friday, July 27, 2012. The conference is free and open to all producers regardless of farming experience.

The first day of the Beginning Farmers Conference is filled with educational workshops running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maui College – Molokaʻi Campus in Kaunakakai. Topics include:

  • Farm Food Safety
  • Integrated Pest Management
  • Disease Management Strategies
  • Advances in Nematode Control

The second day of the conference will center on field demonstrations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (UH-CTAHR) Molokaʻi Applied Research and Demonstration Farm (a.k.a. MCC Farm) next door to Kumu Farms.

Pre-registration is required by July 16! You may bring your own lunch or you may order lunch at the time of registration. If you wish to order lunch, there is a $10.00 per day charge. Applications available at Extension office (next door to the Hoʻolehua Post Office).
