The Wai`oli Kalo Farmers are seeking a new license from the Wai`oli Stream in the Waioli Ahupua`a of Halele`a, Kaua`i from the State Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR). The farmers wish to continue to use the water to continue their wetland kalo farming practices. Under state law (HRS 171-58 (g)), the DLNR and DHHL are required to consult with DHHL beneficiaries.

Hawaiian Homes Commission Vote The Beneficiary Consultation Report is anticipated to go before the Hawaiian Homes Commission for acceptance in January 2021.

The Beneficiary Consultation Meeting is an opportunity for you to share your mana’o regarding the proposed project. Your comments will be presented to the Hawaiian Homes Commission to assist in their decision-making process.
