Postponed due to Tropical Storm Ana
Due to potentially severe weather conditions relating to Hurricane Ana, the Hawaiian Homes Commission is postponing its regular monthly meeting scheduled on October 20-21, to the following week, October 27-28th. Meetings will be held at the Aloha Beach Hotel, 3-5920 Kūhiō Highway, Kapa‘a, HI 96746 for both dates as all other venues were unavailable.

DHHL Postpones Next Week’s Commission Meetings
on Kaua‘i Due to Tropical Storm Ana
Hawaiian Homes Commission meetings rescheduled for Oct. 27 & 28
HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I – Hawaiian Homes Commission meetings originally scheduled for Monday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at the Līhu’e State Building on Kaua’i will be postponed to Monday, Oct. 27, and Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, due to anticipated severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm Ana.
The rescheduled meetings will be held in the Ali’i Room of the Aston Aloha Beach Hotel, 3-5920 Kuhio Highway, Kapa’a, Hawaii 96746, at the following dates and times:

Hawaiian Homes Commission Regular Meeting (Reconvene)
Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The Hawaiian Homestead Community Meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Cafeteria will also be postponed a week, to the following date, time and location:

All Department of Hawaiian Home Lands district offices statewide will remain open until further notice. Weather permitting.
Tropical Storm Ana is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday morning and remain at category 1 hurricane strength with winds of 80 to 85 mph when it reaches Hawaii on Saturday, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.
