Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization. Habitat has an open-door policy: all who desire to be a part of our work are welcome, regardless of religious preference or background. We build with people in need, regardless of race or religion. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds. Homes are built at no profit; interest is not charged on the loans. Building costs are financed by a revolving fund called The Fund for Humanity. The fund gets money from homeowner’s house payments, no-interest loans provided by supporters and money earned from donations or fund-raising activities. The money in the Fund for Humanity is used to build more homes for needy people.
