REMINDER: Report Flood Damage

Posted on Mar 21, 2012 in Department of Hawaiian Home Lands

Recent flood damage to river bank in Anahola, Kaua'i.

Heavy rains, thunderstorms, and even hail hit our islands earlier this month, damaging some Hawai’i homes, properties, and businesses.

The State is currently assessing disaster damage and encourages residents to report any damage to property by calling Hawai’i State Civil Defense.

The toll-free number 855-211-7456, ext. 654.

The reports help give State Civil Defense an accurate account of disaster damage to determine whether or not the State meets the criteria for federal aid. Reporting damage does not guarantee financial aid for repairs. Photo documentation of damages (e.g. flood water level, blown roofs, lightning damage) is recommended.

If the line is busy or not picked up, please leave a message including your name, phone number, and island so damage assessors can return your call.
